DIWALI
Diwali is one of the most important festival of Hindus. Another name of Diwali which means, row of lights. It is also known as 'Deepawali'.It is the day which is symbol of victory over evil. It is the festival of lights, joy, love and happiness. It comes in the month of October or November. The day Deepawali is celebrated because lord Rama came back to Ayodhya after the exile of 14 years. On the occasion of Diwali people start to clean house, shops and all the things many days before. They got their house and shops white -washed.On this day markets and houses are decorated with many types of colorfull lights and flowers. People purchase cloths and other things , their is big crowd in the markets. And their was many types of sweets. People used to make rangoli in front of their home. People invite their friends and relative and gift them gifts and sweets and spread love towards everyone. In the evening of Deepawali we worship goddess Luxmi and lord Ganesha. Goddess Luxmi is considered to be the goddess of wealth and prosperity . On this day children like to burst crackers (patakha). People wishes to each others 'Happy Diwali' and exchange gifts. Thus, Diwali is the festival of love, joy and friendship.
